The Crossroads spread

5 cards

The Crossroads compares two real options without pretending either path is fixed. It works when you can name both choices plainly and want to see the character, cost and likely direction of each.

The positions, in order

  1. 1. The Heart of It — What this decision is truly about beneath the surface
  2. 2. The First Path — The energy and likely course of the first option
  3. 3. The Second Path — The energy and likely course of the second option
  4. 4. What You Cannot See — A factor you has not weighed
  5. 5. The Counsel — The deck's guidance on how to choose

Questions this spread suits

  • Should I stay or accept the new role?
  • Which of these two projects deserves priority?
  • Do I repair this arrangement or leave it?
  • Which route better matches what I value?

How to read the cards together

Define the First Path and Second Path before shuffling; do not decide which is which afterwards. The Heart of It reveals the need beneath the surface choice. Read both path cards with equal care, then use What You Cannot See to challenge your assumptions. The Counsel is not a winning path so much as the standard by which the choice should be made.

Where this spread stops

If there are more than two viable options, narrow them with practical research first or read separate spreads. For high-stakes choices, the cards can expose preferences and fears, but qualified advice and verifiable facts must carry the decision.

Put the positions around a real question and read the cards as one connected answer.
