The Past, Present, Future and Outcome spread

4 cards

The fourth Outcome position separates the next development from the longer result. Use it when a three-card timeline feels too compressed and you need to distinguish what arrives soon from where the path settles.

1234

The positions, in order

  1. 1. The Past — Past influences and events that shaped the present situation
  2. 2. The Present — The heart of the situation as it stands right now
  3. 3. The Immediate Future — What is approaching in the coming days and weeks
  4. 4. The Final Outcome — The final outcome of this chapter if you stays on the present path

Questions this spread suits

  • How will this project develop over the next three months?
  • What is the likely course of this relationship?
  • How might this move affect my work?
  • What follows if I keep the present plan?

How to read the cards together

Read the first three cards as a sequence, then pause before the Outcome. The Immediate Future is the next observable turn; the Outcome gathers the effect of all four positions. Repeated suits show the dominant area of life, while a Major Arcana card in either final position can indicate that the stage carries more weight than its duration suggests.

Where this spread stops

The outcome assumes the current course continues. Treat it as conditional information. If the final card is not where you want to land, the Present and Immediate Future positions show the earliest points where a different choice may alter the direction.

Put the positions around a real question and read the cards as one connected answer.
