The One Card spread
1 card
A one-card spread gives one issue the whole frame. It works best when the question is focused and you want a useful point of reflection rather than a full account of every influence.
The positions, in order
- 1. The Insight — The single most important energy surrounding you right now
Questions this spread suits
- What deserves my attention today?
- What am I missing about this situation?
- What would help me take the next step?
- What quality should I bring to this conversation?
How to read the cards together
Read the image before reaching for a fixed definition. Notice the figure, direction of movement, colour and the detail that catches your eye first. Then connect the card with the exact wording of your question. An upright card may show an available quality or direct expression; a reversed card can point to delay, resistance, excess or something kept inward.
Where this spread stops
One card cannot map a complicated relationship or a decision with several competing forces. If the answer raises a second question, move to Past, Present and Future or The Crossroads rather than repeatedly drawing until a preferred card appears.
Put the positions around a real question and read the cards as one connected answer.
